The EDGE

THE PINCH
The Pinch District was Memphis' first neighborhood and was a melting pot of immigrants - mostly Irish immigrants who came to America to escape the Potato Famine. The Pinch was also Memphis' first commercial district, and with the Bass Pro Outdoor World the expanding world-renown St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The Pinch is poised to re-emerge once again as a center for commerce.
UPTOWN
A resurgent 100-block Downtown neighborhood just east of Harbor Town and north of The Pinch, Uptown is in the process of adding 1,000 new homes and apartments as well as parks and new streetscape. In just a few years, Uptown has transformed into an engaging place with the character and community fabric of a traditional neighborhood coupled with the vibrant lifestyle of Downtown. Residents enjoy a variety of homes with the attractive pricing, modern appeal, and new quality construction rarely available inside the city. A walk, bike, or trolley ride takes you to the Mississippi River, the District anchor institutions, and a rich array of entertainment, arts, sports, restaurants, shopping and people.
PEABODY VANCE
Conveniently located between downtown and midtown, Peabody/Vance neighborhood offers a variety of housing options from historic mansions to cozy family apartments. This diverse neighborhood mixes historic charm with an up-and-coming commercial corridor. Learn more about what Peabody Vance has to offer.
MADISON HEIGHTS
This corridor connecting Crosstown to the Medical District is experiencing a rediscovery. One of the most ethnically-diverse areas of Memphis, it is home to popular global restaurants and a host of other businesses, both established and new.
North Poplar
Anchored by several assets from St. Mary’s Episcopal Church to the Legends Park Development, this area plays a critical role connecting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital and the rest of the District. Recent community plans in this area are positioning the neighborhood to see new investments in infrastructure, public space and new housing options.
