Thinking about using transit?

Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) provides about 22,000 rides every day. Riding a bus is one of the easiest ways to change your commute and time on the bus is great for reading, relaxing, working, or studying.

How to get started:

  1. Use MATA’s trip planner to find a bus route from home to work.

  2. Walk to the stops nearest your home and nearest to your work, so you know where they are.

  3. If you need to park & ride, find the nearest locations, here.

  4. Figure out which bus pass you need and purchase it at one of MATA’s locations: William Hudson Transit Center, American Way Transit Center, and Airways Transit Center. You can also purchase a single or daily pass on the bus for your convenience.

  5. Try it out - Do a trial run on a Saturday to get comfortable with the ride - remember weekend schedules might be different.

  6. Ready to Ride - try riding to work on the bus!
